The Atlantic Ocean beaches of Cape Henlopen State Park is a ten-minute drive from our home in Lewes, Delaware and is a nice break from the frenzy of Rehoboth Beach.  Many of our guests tell us that this nearby gem makes their weekly vacation rental a wonderful experience for the whole family.

King's Homemade Ice Cream is a Lewes, Delaware Landmark
Historic Second Street in Lewes was renovated in 2006 and is just a few blocks away from our rental vacation home.  This street is filled with lots of interesting shops, restaurants, and King's Ice Cream, a legendary Lewes destination.
The Cannonball House was damaged by a two-day bombardment by the British in the War of 1812
Lewes, Delaware is a great place for history buffs to spend a week or more touring the excellent museums and taking walking tours. You will learn about the visit of Captain Kidd, War of Independence, War of 1812, and the creation of Lewes, Delaware by the Dutch in the early 1600s as a whaling town.

Enjoy Cape Henlopen State Park
This nature reserve is a ten-minute drive from our Lewes, Delaware rental house.

Delaware's largest state park features roomy ocean beaches, coastal dunes, surfing, woodland trails, camping, military history, and some of the best fishing on the East Coast.  The Cape's Great Dune is one of the highest coastal points between Cape Hatteras and Cape Cod. The Seaside Nature Center houses an aquarium and a gift shop, and hosts year-round activities for all ages.
